Your breast lift (mastopexy) costs will be discussed during your consultation. We accept all forms of payment, including credit cards and checks, and also offer convenient financing options.
Why Choose a Breast Lift (Mastopexy)?
If you have breasts with loose, sagging skin, then a breast lift is your only option for achieving an uplifted and younger look. Is breast sagging a problem for you? By choosing a breast lift, you may improve how your breasts project and how lifted they are, giving them a perky and youthful roundness.
Who is a Candidate for Breast Lift (Mastopexy)?
If you have sagging breasts, you could be an ideal candidate for a breast lift. It may help to restore firmness and shape to your breasts. Aging, weight changes, and your underlying genetics can all contribute to sagging breasts.
What is the Procedure for a Breast Lift (Mastopexy)?
The breast lift procedure typically takes between two and three hours and is performed under general anesthesia. Excess skin is trimmed and removed. Your natural breast tissue is tightened so that the breasts are elevated to a higher position on the chest and then sculpted into a perkier and younger-looking contour.
Mastopexy actually lifts the breast, creating an improved shape, position of the breast, and overall contour. Sagging breasts, or ptosis, can be caused by multiple factors, but some of the common reasons include stretched out skin from weight gain and loss, natural aging processes, changes with pregnancy, and changes caused by breast feeding. I usually reposition the nipple and areola higher in addition to recreating a smoother and higher breast shape.
There are multiple techniques for lifting the breasts. In general, the nipples do not need to be completely disconnected or removed from the breasts and put back on. The techniques Dr. Dawli uses generally keep the nipples on the breasts but still moves them up and while recreating a better breast shape and nipple and areola size.
Everyone scars differently and the appearance of your scar has a lot to do with your genetics. Either way, you will have scars on your breasts. They will fade with time, but will always still be visible in most cases. The length and location of your scars depends on what exactly you need done and which technique will work best for you.
A saline implant has a silicone rubber shell filled with sterile saltwater. A silicone implant has the same shell filled with a silicone gel that is FDA approved. Many consider silicone implants to feel softer and more like a natural breast.
You need to be off of work for one week. After that time, you can start increasing your level of activity depending on your healing. Usually it takes 3 to 6 weeks to get back to your regular activities. Again, it all depends on your level of healing and the extent of your surgery.
Dr. Tamara Dawli will review all of the risks and complications at your consultation. But some of the risks to be aware of include slight asymmetry, change in nipple sensation, poor scarring, and infection. We will review all the risk store thoroughly at your consultation. We will review the risks of anesthesia based on your medical history at your consultation. It is also important to note that the results of breast surgery are not permanent and you will continue to age after your procedure which will affect the positioning and shape of your breasts.
Breast lift surgery is considered cosmetic, and insurance, in general, will not cover the procedure.
