What is Liposuction?
Why Choose Liposuction?
Sometimes recalcitrant areas of fat don’t respond well to lifestyle changes like dieting and exercise. Liposuction can help you combat fat zones and areas that just don’t seem to go away no matter how much you work out or eat right. If you have fat zones that haven’t responded optimally to your best efforts at diet, exercise, and weight loss, ask us about liposuction.
Who is a Candidate for Liposuction?
You may be a candidate for liposuction if you want to sculpt your body, effectively by eliminating unwanted fat from your abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, arms, chin or neck. If you are concerned about the fat in your back, we can remove fat from the back, bra line, and flank areas (love handles) to give you a smoother appearance. Set up a liposuction consultation to find out what you need to know about liposuction. Ask us about abdominal etching, which is a form of lipo that uses a specialized technique to contour and shape that last layer of fat that is hiding your abdominal muscles.
What is the Procedure for Liposuction?
After using a local anesthetic to assure your comfort, tumescent fluid is injected into the treatment area. A cannula is utilized to suction out stubborn fat deposits. Due to the minimal nature of the incisions, the visible scar will be minimal. With the tumescent liposuction technique, swelling and postoperative bruising are minimized, and most swelling will resolve within three weeks following your treatment.
What is Tumescent Power-Assisted Liposuction (PAL)?
Tumescent power-assisted liposuction is a type of liposuction that allows for a smoother, even, and dramatic result. With tumescent power-assisted liposuction, unwanted fat is gently detached from the body using small, rapid vibrations from a special cannula. The fat is then collected into the cannula and removed from the body in a smoother, more efficient manner. The tumescent portion of the procedure is the fluid with local anesthesia that is injected prior to the start of the liposuction that helps to reduce patient discomfort and side effects, such as bleeding, swelling and bruising. Tumescent PAL helps to reduce the treatment time, obtain better smoother results, and expedite the recovery process for patients when compared to regular liposuction.
